Sport Specific Testing & Training

Peak performance, health, and athletic conditioning requires more that traning hard. It also requires you to train smart, taking full advantage of every training session by performing exercises that are not only specific to your sport, but also that are designed to correct the biomechanical problems and weak links that are preventing your optimal performance and increaseing your risk of injury.

One of our goals as Kinetesis Sports is to help ahtletes identify these biomechancial problems and weak links through a Sport Specific Biomechanical Assessment, and then to develop a Customized Exercise Plan that they can use to use to help correct these issues and get their bodies in top athletic form.

Sport Specific Biomechanical Assessment

To develop an exercise conditioning program that will be most effective in optimizing technique/biomechanics, correcting movement compensations, and increasing the efficiency and effectiveness of an athletes movements, a thorough assessment is needed to identify the specific biomechanical faults and weak links that need to be corrected in the exercise plan.

With this assessemnt we take the client through a series of tests, beginning with an assessment of athletic technique and key fundamental movement patterns.  With these tests we can use video analysis software to play back these movements frame by frame, utilizing advanced analysis tools which provide a more thorough analysis of the movement.  This video analysis is also a great tool to allow the client to see what we see and better understand their particular biomechanical issues. In addiiton, we also perform a comprehensive biomechal assessement of the flexibility, strength, coordination, and muscle balance of key individual muscles that are fundamental to each specific sport.

Once we have collected all of the test data we can then formulate a Functional Profile for each client, which allows us to easily identify an athletes biomechanical faults and weak links, and to develop an exercise/conditioning plan the athlete can perfom as part of their overall training routine to correct these weak links and get them from where they are to where they need to be.

Customized Exercise Plans / Training Routines

Based on the information obtained from the Sport Specific Testing and Evaluation component, a customized exercise training plan / exercise routine can be developed for each individual client. These programs, which can be designed as either a primary training component or as a supplement to other forms of training (i.e. as a adjunct to aerobic/endurance training) are designed so the athlete/client can complete the routine on thier own wither at home or at their gym (Note: Supervised 1-on-1 and small group training is also avaliable - see below). In addition to a hardcopy of the exercise plane, the program includes a full training session, at which time Dr. Gray will review each client's program with them, and will review and demonstrate each exercise to ensure proper form and execution.

NOTE: The Sport-Specific Biomechanical Assessment and Customized Exercise Plan is 2-part package that is billed and performed on 2 seperate days to allow proper analysis and development of the exercise plan.
