To Perform the Quadruped Posterior Hip Stretch:
- Begin in a quadruped position with your knees directly under your hips (Figure 1).
- From this position lift one knee off the floor and shift the free leg back behind your opposite leg (Figure 2).
- Next, shift your weight back slightly to the outside of your support knee. At this point all your weight should be focused over your support knee and you should feel a stretch on the back of your support hip (figure 3).
- Hold this position for 15-30 seconds, the repeat on the opposite side.
